WUMC Weekly Update: September 7, 2010



Tree silouette. Join us for Rally Day, 2010, this Sunday, September 12, and help us kick off our Fall Programming. Our Rally Day theme this year is "Going Green!" Recycle-Restore-Renew. Remember to wear green!
  • Bring new or gently-used t-shirts, sweat shirts and men’s pajamas to donate to the New Life Clothing Room!
  • 9:00 am – Ministry Fair and Educational Showcase. Curious about our various committees and ministries? Check out the informational displays in the Narthex/Dixon Lounge area before and after worship!
  • 10:00 am - Blended Worship Service for ALL with music by Chancel Choir, Linda Nolan, Tim Berridge and Emerge musicians. There’s something for everybody!
  • Child care for infants and toddlers is available at 10:00 am. There will be no Sunday School Classes today. (Classes return next week!)
  • A delicious Luncheon will be enjoyed on the Church Lawn at 11:30. Lunch tickets are only $5 per person ($20 per family) and are available all week in the church office (office@worthingtonumc.org), and on Sunday morning. Menu is sub sandwiches, wraps, chips, relishes, cake and beverage. Don’t miss Rally Day "Going Green!"

Youth Breakfast Fundraiser at Champps! Pancake breakfast.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Champps restaurant (Crosswoods) while you help raise money for youth activities. Join us this Saturday, September 11, 7:30- 9:30 am. Cost is $5.00 for buffet-style, all-you-can-eat breakfast, served by our youth. Bring your family, friends and neighbors!
WUMC Hiring Nursery Lead Teachers
Worthington UMC will hire two Nursery Lead Teachers for Sunday morning from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm, twice a month. Applicants must demonstrate a passion for working with infants and toddlers and building relationships with the children's parents. Worthington UMC is dedicated to providing consistent people whom families can trust. Several other volunteers will assist the Nursery Lead Teachers. If you wish to apply, please contact Rev. Heather Moyers at heather@worthingtonumc.org by Thursday, September 9 . Applicants must be at least 18 years old for this position.

  • Today, the Flowers & Paraments Committee meets at 7:00 pm, Devotions are at 7:15 PM, followed by Evangelism Committee and Trustees meetings at 7:30 pm.
  • On Wednesday, September 8, and ourTaizé Service is at 7:30 pm.
  • On Thursday, September 9, Deborah Circle meets at 1:00 pm, Martha Circle meets at 7:00 pm, and Chancel Choir rehearsals resume at 7:30 pm.
  • On Friday, September 10, Messenger articles are due.
  • On Rally Day, Sunday, September 11, there will be ONE Blended Service at 10:00 am, with childcare for infants and toddlers. Join us for worship, followed by the Rally Day Luncheon at 11:30 am.
