Take a break from your Saturday morning shopping at the Farmer's Market to enjoy the beautiful music of Tim Berridge this Saturday morning, July 10, at 10:00 am on the church lawn. Bring a friend along!
The Blessing of the Animals
Bring your pet or pets (on a leash or in a carrier, please) to our Blessing of the Animals, on Saturday, July 24, 10:00 am, on the church lawn. The Blessing is a brief and informal worship service. All are invited. Join us!

New Worship Schedule Begins August 1

Emerge Worship (& Children's Church)
We will begin this new schedule on August 1, the first Sunday of August. This schedule will allow us to return to an earlier morning Chapel Service during the summer, so in August we will have service in the Chapel at 8:30 am.

- Articles for the August Messenger are due this Saturday, July 10. Please drop off your information in the church office or email to slm@worthingtonumc.org. Thank you for your early submissions!
- For the months of July and August, Official church office hours are: 9:00 am through 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am through 3:00 pm on Fridays. We will see how this works and decide in mid-August if this schedule will be maintained beyond August or if we will return to the 8:00 am-5:00 pm timeframe.
- The Administrative Council meeting has been moved from July 27 to Tuesday, July 20.
- If you are a single adult age 40 and above, please join the WUMC Singles for a planning meeting in the Dixon Lounge at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 12, and also for breakfast at La Chatelaine at 8:30 am on Saturday, July 17, followed by a visit to the Worthington Farmers Market. - The Faith In Literature Adult Sunday School class continues an 8-week unit on "Wizards, Wardrobes and Wookies: Finding God in Modern Fiction." There is no cost and you'll be able to keep up if you miss a class or two. Join them on Sundays at 10:10 am in the Chapel Lounge.
- The next series of New Member Classes will be held on Sundays, July 25, August 1 and August 8, from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the church or transferring your membership, contact David Hoffman at 614-885-5365 or david@worthingtonumc.org.
- Our Annual Church-wide Picnic at Highbanks will be held on Sunday, July 18, at 5:30 pm. Mark your calendar now!

This Week's Committee Meetings and Happenings:
- Today, Devotions are at 7:15 pm, followed by Evangelism, Trustees and Small Group Ministries Council meetings at 7:30 pm.
- On Friday, July 9, the Children's Ministry Team will depart for the Planning Retreat at 1:00 pm.
- On Saturday, July 10, the Men's Breakfast is at 7:30 am, the Flowers and Paraments Workshop and the Julia Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting are at 10:00 am.
- On Sunday, July 11, Reach Out Camp Participants will be blessed at the Emerge service and depart at Noon. Pizza with the Pastors is at noon. WUMC vs. North Broadway UMC softball game is at 3:15 pm, at Fancyburg Park, in Upper Arlington.
Parish Concerns:
- Mary Louise Menardi passed away on July 1. Please keep her husband, Pete, and the Menardi family in your prayers. Her funeral will be on Thursday, July 8, at 2:00 pm, in Potter Chapel.
