WUMC Weekly Update: June 21, 2010

Mary Wetterauer. Mary Wetterauer is Retiring
After much prayerful consideration, Mary Wetterauer, our receptionist and membership secretary for the past five years, has decided to retire effective June 30, 2010. She is looking forward to having more time to enjoy family, friends and personal time at this point in life, as well as continuing to serve through Worthington UMC, but just not in a paid capacity. In lieu of a reception, Mary would rather just have people wish her well and give her a hug when we see her at church. The Staff Parish Relations Committee invites the entire congregation to help them thank Mary for the wonderful service she has given us as a staff member. If you would like to leave cards for her in the church office, they will be sure she gets them. SPRC will work with our lead pastor to best secure coverage for the tasks that must be done and you will hear more about this in the future.

New Office Hours starting July 1
We are going to try an experiment for the months of July and August. Official church office hours will be:
  • 9:00 am through 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
  • 9:00 am through 3:00 pm on Fridays
We will see how this works and decide in mid-August if this schedule will be maintained beyond August or if we will return to the 8:00 am through 5:00 pm timeframe.
New Worship Schedule Begins August 1
Our new, year-round schedule will be:
9:30 am
Traditional Worship (& Children's Church)
10:30-11:30 am
Fellowship Time
10:40-11:25 am
Sunday School for all ages
11:30 am
Emerge Worship (& Children's Church)
We will begin this new schedule on August 1, the first Sunday of August. This schedule will allow us to return to an earlier morning Chapel Service during the summer, so in August we will have service in the Chapel at 8:30 am.
