About United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

Purpose of United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Vision

Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world. Outcomes
  1. United Methodist Women provides opportunities and resources to grow spiritually, to become more deeply rooted in Christ and to put faith into action.
  2. United Methodist Women is organized for growth, with flexible structures leading to effective witness and action.

  5. United Methodist Women provides educational experiences that lead to personal change in order to transform the world.

Other ways you can give to mission are Mission Giving Plus, National Ministries, and International Ministries. Mission Giving is the foundation for mission work through United Methodist Women and the Women's Division. Your contribution enables a full and consistent response to human need, especially the needs of women, children and youth. It affirms the wholeness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a commitment to its proclamation in word and deed. Mission giving strengthens basic programs and projects. It also makes emergency response and exploration of new and evolving areas of mission possible.
