This is an amazing group of women who share their faith as they function in many forms of mission, beginning with their own group and church, and expanding to local and global opportunities. These ladies have participated in a circle for anywhere from 12 to over 60 years. They work together as WUMW information and requests are shared and responsibilities are assumed. Some examples of the latter are helping with Trifles 'n Treasures, the December coffee hours and various receptions, offering gifts and funding for the United Methodist Children‘s Home, providing bathroom supplies for the church‘s recently adopted CRIS family, underwriting funds for local and global missions, and providing flowering plants for homebound church members in July.
Volunteering is second nature to these ladies, and community outreach through individual participation in local missions is visible. Some of their efforts include volunteering at the Worthington Thrift Shop, acting as co-director of a chimes choir, serving as a member of the Village Chaplain Advisory Committee at Friendship Village North, volunteering in a store at Friendship Village Dublin, serving as a volunteer with the Clintonville Community Resource Center, taking individuals to doctor appointments, helping with Secret Santa, membership in the Worthington Civic Band or the WUMC chancel and bell choirs, president-elect for the Ohio Chapter of Palantines to America, volunteering at a library, helping with landscaping, volunteering in local schools, participating in Project Linos, making quilt squares for "Warm Up America," financial underwriting of various needs within the church (often anonymous), and membership in the Sewing Guild at Riverside Hospital.
