New Life United Methodist Church

Photo of New Life Methodist Church. New Life has been in ministry in the Short North area of Columbus for over 100 years. There is a long legacy of serving people in need, and nurturing one another in our faith, and our discipleship to Jesus Christ.

In 1981, Third Avenue and Fifth Avenue United Methodist Churches came together to strengthen and grow in ministry, claiming a new name, symbolic of a new beginning: NEW LIFE. Since then, our outreach ministries in the community and larger Columbus area continue to grown offering basic necessities, including the gift of hope, to our neighbors.

We are motivated by Jesus' call to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, AND our neighbor as ourselves.

We are a ministry of hospitality, welcoming and accepting people for who they are, in all our diversity. At New Life, people are known by name, and find a place of belonging. We are engaged in servant ministry, seeking to be faithful disciples by following Jesus, who came "not to be served, but to serve" (Mark 10:45), by responding to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our neighbors.
