Knitting and Stitching Group
We meet the 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 9:30-11:00 am. It is a time to work on your own projects while having some fellowship time with others. We are willing to teach others, try to help you with problems with your project, and admire the finished outcome. We do knitting, crochet, and all types of embroidery. Check the church calendar, bulletin and/or Messenger for location.
Men's Breakfast Group
The small group known as the "Men's Breakfast" was borne out of fellowship during a Men's Retreat at the Church some years ago. We decided to continue our momentum with monthly meetings to share coffee and sometimes breakfast and to discuss what was of concern to us at the time.
Since them we have engaged in various projects, including a day at Habitat for Humanity and building the manger scene that graces our lawn during the Christmas season. We have also sponsored a "Men's Day Apart" event at Hocking Hills State Park.
Recently, We have shared some very challenging and timely subjects, such as the nature of the cosmos, how to know God and Science vs Religion. We had a lengthy series of discussions on the religious practices of various faiths.
It is my hope that we can find a formula that will attract more of the men of the church to fellowship together and sponsor more projects and retreats in the future. For more information contact Mark Rodgers or John Valasco.
Music Ministries
Outreach Ministries is an integral part of who we are as United Methodists. This ministry guides us to make sure social witness is part of how we live out our faith in the world. Through our
2nd mile giving, as well as the other missional giving, this group helps us dispense our tithes and offerings worldwide. In addition, we participate in
Habitat for Humanity;
New Life Church outreach, Crop Walk, NEMAPP and the
Worthington Food Pantry to mention but a few.
Marriage Celebration (Christian Fellowship)
Married Couples meet once a month on a Saturday evening for fellowship, food and strengthening their marriage. They also take regular couples' retreats and a weekend trip each year. Building your relationship with your spouse and time for sharing in Christian fellowship with other couples is two great reasons to join the fun!
Prayer Ministry
The Worthington United Methodist Church has a continually on-going prayer chain for those who need prayer or wish to have prayers said for them.
The Prayer Ministry group also has a bible study every week. Together we read and study the scripture(s) that our ministers use their sermons. It helps us to understand the scriptures and to more throughly appreciate the lessons in the sermons.
Our Prayer Ministry always welcomes prayer requests and new colleagues. Please contact our church office if you wish to get in touch with us.
Stephen Ministry
Our Stephen Ministry is an active arm of pastoral care at WUMC. This one-to-one caring relationship offers the ministry of presence to those who find themselves in times of grief, transition, loneliness and the like. Members of our Stephen Ministry visit hospitals on a weekly basis, deliver tapes to our homebound and participate in the Taizé services.
Our United Methodist Women participate in many different kinds of activites. Select here for more information.
Women's Book Group
The WUMC Women's Book Group meets on the third Saturdays of the month at 8:00 am at Le Chatelaine. We read and discuss a variety of books that have relevance to living in our world with guidance for our faith journey. Books have ranged from classics to current best sellers and from modern to historical in time. Members suggest books and the group agrees on which ones to read and when. One can become a "member" of the group by attending one of our meetings or by contacting one of the members. Sharon Seiling is the coordinator of the group. Contact her at 614-761-0368 or by email at
