UMW Membership
Jeanne Line
Worthington UMW extends an open invitation to
all women of the church to join our community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
WUMW currently has approximately 160 members. Members belong to small groups known as Circles and attend regular meetings for fellowship, personal enrichment programs, and to further the UMW's goal of supporting local and global missions for women and children. All money raised by the UMW is used for this purpose. Circles have special topics of focus each year in the areas of Spiritual Growth, Social Issues and Mission Studies. Members are encouraged to participate in a Reading Program and other learning opportunities offered by the Conference and District. Circle members also help host Sunday coffee hours, prepare gift baskets for those unable to attend circle meetings, host birthday and anniversary receptions, sponsor luncheons and events such as the Mother/Daughter banquet and Father/Child Dinner/Game Night, and participate in numerous other service projects. Repeating last year's efforts, UMW members will again work with the Outreach Committee in 2010 to help resettle a refugee family through the
CRIS Project.
UMW Circles are comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds. We invite you to consider joining the circle that best meets your needs. -- Jeanne Line, Membership Chair (614-885-3111 or jslineohio@aol.com)
