Lenten Communion and Meditation
On Wednesdays during Lent, the Potter Chapel will be open for a Meditative Time from 7:00 to 8:30 am and 6:00 to 7:30 pm, except on March 10 when the
Taizé Service will be held at 7:30 pm. During this time you may meditate for as long as you like and then come forward where one of the pastors will serve you Holy Communion.
Our monthly
Taizé Service will be held in Potter Chapel on Wednesday, March 10, at 7:30 pm. Please join us for a time of quiet reflection, meditation, music and prayer, in the beautiful candlelit chapel. This service lasts less than an hour.
Worship Services with Children's Musical
Sunday, March 14. 100% Chance of Rain will be presented by our children as part of the 9:00 and 11:00 am worship services.
Holy Week
Palm/Passion Sunday, March 28: 9:00 am and 11:00 am Worship Services.
Children's Choir will sing at 9:00 & 11:00 services. Sunday School for all ages is at 10:10 am.
Holy Week Prayer Path:
A prayer path labyrinth will be set up in Dixon Lounge starting Sunday, March 28 at 4:00 pm, and will remain through Wednesday evening, March 31. You are invited to stop in during Church hours (8:00 am-8:30 pm) and take a prayer journey during Holy Week. You may either read a script that goes with each station or listen to personal CD player (provided) leading you through the prayer path.
Maundy Thursday, April 1: Tenebrae Service, 7:30 pm, in the Sanctuary
Through music, scripture, and Holy Communion, we will journey with Jesus from the triumph of Palm Sunday to the betrayal and rejections of this night. Through symbolic action, we experience the gathering darkness of when the world tries to destroy its True Light. The Chancel Choir will be participating.
Good Friday, April 2:
Community Worship Service, at 12:00 noon.
This service begins at Worthington Presbyterian Church, traveling to seven worship stations around the Village Green, experiencing the seven last words of Christ. The last station is in the cemetery at St. John's Episcopal Church. Worthington UMC will host one of the stations.
Good Friday Service: With Special Music, 7:30 pm, in the Sanctuary
Featuring Requiem by Robert Schumann presented by the combined choirs of Worthington UMC and Trinity UMC, conducted by Dr. Robert Ward, with Dr. Linda Nolan, Organist.
Holy Saturday, April 3: Easter Vigil Service, 7:30 pm, in the Sanctuary
This ancient service of worship begins in darkness and moves us from the barren shadow of the cross to the brilliance of Christ's resurrection. Candles are lit and the sanctuary prepared for Easter. The story of our salvation is read and celebrated. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated and the service concludes with Holy Communion, the feast of Christ's victory over death.
Easter Day, April 12
You are invited to bring some cut, fresh flowers of your choice to decorate the cross in the courtyard, in celebration of Easter.
9:00 am - Easter Worship Service, with Holy Communion, in the Sanctuary.
Our traditional service features festive music with Chancel Choir, Organ and Brass. Everyone is welcome!
11:00 am - Easter Emerge Service, with Holy Communion, in the Sanctuary.
Our "Emerge @ 11" alternative service features energetic vocal and instrumental music with a contemporary flavor. Everyone is welcome!
Home-Bound Communion
During the Lenten season, Holy Communion will be offered to homebound members. Homebound members will be contacted to arrange times. If you or someone you know is homebound and would appreciate receiving Holy Communion in their home, please contact the church office, at 614-885-5365 or
