Welcome to our new Lead Pastor, Rev. Cyndy L. Garn! Rev. Garn's first Sunday at Worthington United Methodist Church, June 28, was celebrated with an extended Coffee Hour in Dixon Lounge following each worship service.

In the words of Bishop Bruce Ough,

Cyndy Garn.
Rev. Garn has pastored three different congregations and served for the past seven years as superintendent of the most diverse and complex district in the West Ohio Conference. She has extensive conference and General Church experience, primarily in the areas of financial management and stewardship. She is knowledgeable of the extensive resources and assets of The United Methodist Church and its related institutions in central Ohio and beyond. She has strong, demonstrated organizational and administrative skills. Cyndy is an effective preacher and teacher. Her preaching is biblical, contextual, visionary and relational. She has successfully developed and led different styles of worship, including contemporary. She is deeply committed to the church being in mission and outreach-oriented and has led congregations to become more deeply engaged in social justice and community service. Cyndy is a good listener and is skilled at bringing people together around a common vision. She provides exceptional pastoral care and has a keen ability to identify spiritual gifts in others and equip them for ministry.

Please take a moment this Sunday to greet Rev. Garn – and be sure to wear your nametag so she may get to know you, too!

Come & Have Fun at the Church Picnic!

What do folks who like to eat, visit, play, and sing songs have in common? They are all coming to the Church Picnic on Sunday, July 19, 5:30 pm, at Highbanks Metro Park (Mansion Shelter), north of Worthington, on Rt. 23! (Maps are available in the church office.) Celebrate the joys of summer with your church family! Bring friends and relatives! A special invitation is extended to all members who have joined our church family since last July.

We'll provide the brats, hot dogs, veggie dogs, and all the fixings, drinks and table service. Just bring your favorite dish to share! There will be fun games, and Highbanks Park supplies an adjoining playground for kids of all ages. And we'll have great music provided by Tim Berridge. We hope to see you there!
