Safe Sancturary -- Child Protection Policy

And Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them;
for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." Matthew 19:14.

Philosophy: As members of The United Methodist Church, we uphold the rights of children and acknowledge that children are a sacred gift from God. In proclaiming that sacredness, we in the Church carry a commitment to enable all children to experience the fullness of life as Jesus proclaimed.

Mission Statement: At Worthington United Methodist Church, we promise to surround children with a community of love and raise them in the faith. We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment in which children can grow and learn. We will not tolerate or ignore child abuse in our church or at church sponsored activities, we will investigate any and all allegations of abuse, and we will have a clear written procedure for responding to any of these allegations. We will educate our congregation about this policy and its procedures.
