Why Become A Member?
Why Become A Member?
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 that we are all members of Christ' body....When
you join a Methodist Church you are asked to take a vow to "Promise to support
the church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service." In
return, the church promises to make a commitment to you to uphold you as you mature
in the Faith.
How Do I Become a Member at Worthington UMC?
-
The first step of that commitment begins by filling out the membership inquiry form online or by circling your name on the red friendship pad in worship this Sunday, indicating your interest in membership.
-
You will be contacted by one of the members of the Evangelism Work Area who
will schedule you for the upcoming New Members class. New Member classes are held
every quarter of the church year.
-
If you are unable to fill out this form or if you have questions, please contact
Mary Wetterauer, membership secretary for events and programming.
Membership Classes are held quarterly and are four hours long on a Sunday with
lunch served. Babysitting is available if reserved in advance. In the class we
explore our Methodist heritage, our personal history, our ministries of today
and our vision for tomorrow. We end the day with Holy Communion.
For
more information contact Reverend David Hoffman.
